“Elements of Genuine Discipleship” – February 22nd, 2023

Dear Church Family, One of the challenges of living more than 1900 years after the last book of the Bible was written is that can be difficult to know how the good book applies to situations that present themselves to us today. Some verses are easy to apply. It’s always wrong to lie. Other situations seem far removed from the words of Scripture. When in doubt, we can look at what it means to be a disciple of Jesus. Those principles always apply and give direction to our lives. On Sunday we will be looking at Matthew 16:24-27. The title of the message is “Elements of Genuine Discipleship.” Other verses that will help prepare you for the message are Ecclesiastes 12:13-14, Matthew 10:24-25, and Luke 6:46. Dear Church Family, I guess we all want what we want. It’s natural but not always wholesome, godly, or good. It’s especially wrong when our will conflicts with God’s will in our lives. On Sunday we will be studying Matthew 16:21-23. The title of the message is “Struggling With the Will of God.” Other verses that will prepare you for our time in God’s word are I Chronicles 21:1-2, Isaiah 55:5-9, and Colossians 3:1-2.
