“The Basics of Faith” – July 30th, 2015

“The Basics of Faith” – July 30th, 2015

Dear Church Family, One of the most valuable dynamics between two people is trust. We have to have faith in other people. We need to believe that they will tell the truth, that they are competent, and that they are reliable. When we have faith or trust in another person, everything becomes easier. Deals are sealed with a hand shake, worry is eliminated, and progress is made rapidly. Where faith and trust are lacking, entanglements abound. The same is true about our faith in God. Everything works so much better when we trust Him. This Sunday morning we will enjoy the first of 8 messages about faith in Hebrews 11. Out text is Hebrews 11:1-3. The message is titled, “The Basics of Faith.” Other helpful verses are Galatians 5:6, Romans 4:16-21, and Genesis 1:1-3. I am very much looking forward to sharing these life changing truths from the Scriptures. On Sunday evening we will interview the Operation Barnabas and Momentum Youth Conference participants. We will follow the time together with an ice cream social. We are very grateful for the work of the Spirit of God in our young people. Until Sunday, may you please God by walking by faith and not by sight. By His Grace, Pastor...

“The Power of Perseverance” – July 16th, 2015

“The Power of Perseverance” – July 16th, 2015

Dear Church Family, A person who hangs in there when things are difficult automatically wins my respect. It is one of the marks of a person who has character. Anyone can quit. It takes character to preserve. This Sunday we will be looking at Hebrews 10:32-39. The title of the message is, “The Power of Perseverance.” Other verses that are helpful to prepare you for the message are Matthew 24:13, Luke 9:62, and Acts 13:43. It will be a privilege to share these truths about perseverance with you. Please be in prayer for our young people and adult workers at Momentum Youth Conference. God has used the conference over the years to work in the lives of many young people. May He do so again the rest of this week. Thank you for praying and God bless you as you hang in there for Him! In His Matchless Grace, Pastor...

“Serving the Body of Christ” – July 9th, 2015

“Serving the Body of Christ” – July 9th, 2015

Dear Church Family, Team sports are interesting to analyze. They are quite different than individual sports. One player does not make a team. The more parts that contribute, the better chance the team has of having a good year. How close knit a team is on and off the field makes a difference on how well a team performance on the field. These and many other observations could be made about team sports. This Sunday morning we will celebrate the Canton GBC team. We will enjoy a Ministry Appreciation Sunday. We have a very large number of people who serve to make Canton Grace all that it is. The sermon will be shorter than usual but fits in with our theme. The message is titled, “Serving the Body of Christ.” Our text is I Corinthians 12:14-27. Other relevant verses are Ephesians 4:11-16, Psalm 133:1-2, and Galatians 5:13. I believe that the whole church family will be encouraged by our morning together. May you enjoy another summer weekend and don’t forget that there is joy in serving Jesus! In His Matchless Grace, Pastor...
